Sunday Scones

Sunday Scones

I always make scones on Sundays, my family always visit and expect cheese scones.  I’ve shared the recipe before but here it is again because it’s super easy and fail proof.  Even those that say they can’t cook can’t stuff this one up.

Clares cheese scones

Self Raising flour - about 4 cups
Grated butter - about 50-100grams
Grated cheese - about 2 cups
Cream and or milk - add until you can mix into a soft ball of dough
Extra cheese to spread on top

Make into a rectangle ball of dough about 50-70 thick
cut into squares and bake in a hot oven for around 15 minutes.

The quantities are easily changed for the amount of people you have, I don’t measure anything I just add it all to the bowl so the above is just a guide.  You can do two cups or flour and 50gms of butter and one cup of cheese and a dash of cream and milk if you are just making them for one or two people, the recipe can be for two or twenty.
